Don't come here for dessert. There isn't any.
We like dessert.
At least our main meal was very good.
There are many Irish pubs to choose from these days. P.J. O'Brien's seems as good as any - real Irish beer on tap, served properly, good solid pub meals...
But no dessert.
Anyway, the decor is standard Irish pub issue - dark wood, little nooks and corners, "watermarked" ceiling (is there an Irish pub outside Ireland that doesn't have a watermarked map of Ireland on the ceiling?)... even the restrooms are in keeping with the Irish theme (unlike many places where the facilities are decorated like an afterthought).
Service was quick and efficient, which was impressive for a busy pub. Our order was taken promptly and the meal arrived sooner than we expected.
The food was good (except dessert, because there wasn't any). Dave ordered the Pie of the Day: Lamb and Pea Pie ($9.50), which sounds funny when you say it and tastes great when you eat it. I tried the not-so-traditional Chargrilled Chicken Breast over Mash with Spanish style Avocado and Tomato Salsa ($15), which turned out very satisfying, even though there was only one tiny piece of avocado in the salsa.
My pint of Kilkenny was beautiful. Dave prefers Caffreys, which was just as good, if you prefer Caffreys. I suppose a second pint could take the place of dessert for some people, but we're not some people. We enjoyed our food, enjoyed our beer, and went to the Blue Train Cafe for dessert.

Dave's summary: "I would prefer not to have to go elsewhere for my dessert!"
Probability that we will return: 25 / 42 (The food's good. The beer's good. But there's no dessert!)
Note that the probability rating is affected by the fact that there are hundreds of places to eat around here.
