There are probably dozens, if not more, of bar/bistro places around here. The Turf Accountants (or Turf Bar) could be one of the better ones. Located downstairs from the street, it has a comfy upmarket, if a bit traditional, feel about it. Wood, brass, plush armchairs, that sort of thing. On a nice afternoon you probably wouldn't appreciate it as much, but on a wintry day this could be just the place to warm yourself up.
The menu is a little more adventurous here than at your standard pub bistro. I ordered the Smoked Chicken Risotto with Calabrese Sausage, Sundried Tomato and Spinach, at $16. Extremely enjoyable. Dave's Barramundi with Almond Butter Sauce ($18.50) was very good as well, if not quite as sublime as the barramundi I had last week (editor's note: stop using pretentious words!). This place is decent value - the rest of the mains ranged from about $15 to $20. Not bad for the location and atmosphere.
Dessert was the cake(s) of the day, at $5.00 each. We split the Flourless Orange Cake and the Mississippi Mud Cake. Both were very moist and flavourful, if a little bit on the small side. I think Dave was still hungry afterwards.
A pot of Carlton beer (Dave) and a glass of house red (me) were unremarkable but served their purpose. Service was not too bad, but they failed the auto-water-refill test.
I didn't check to see what other beers they offered here. A lot of pubs only stock the usual suspects... of course we know where to go when we really want beer.

Dave's summary: "I could eat another mudcake, no worries."
Probability that we will return: 35 / 42
Note that the probability rating is affected by the fact that there are hundreds of places to eat around here.
