Aural Dyslexia, or Senile Dog Matter.

09 November 2001

Have you ever been talking to a friend, and they say something that you hear as distinct words, but words which make no sense at all? Then you repeat what you heard, just to clarify that your friend uttered such utter nonsense, and they say "What???" and you both fall down laughing at the absurdity of it all, and in the hysterics your friend forgets completely what they said in the first place?

No?

Well, then you've missed out on one of life's greatest pleasures (well maybe).

If you have any examples, please send them to me and I will update this list. If it grows big enough, I will post a permanent link to it from the main page.

  • "Bartholomew Sews a Donut" (courtesy of my friend Eric in California)
  • "Your behaviour has tassles" (this one's a bit of a stretch, but Julien won't mind)
