A lot of people would be excited by a first trip to America. Alexander thought that getting on an aeroplane for fourteen hours was no big deal at all. He ate, he played, he slept. Repeat four times. Just like at home! As if he flies to America every other week, ho hum. Nice lifestyle if you can get it!
Alexander the jetsetting baby. His parents? Well, someone has to get sleep-deprived and irritable on such a long flight. Not Alexander's problem! In fact, he hardly cried for five minutes the whole time.
Remember when he was teething and cranky? Somehow that has gone away for now. Not that we're complaining. Of course, we want him to get teeth, but not while we're trapped on an aeroplane!
The fact that both parents have colds didn't help during the flight, but we're definitely grateful for Alex's good humour, because it makes our recovery from the long flight that much easier. Oh, and did I mention that he's got some extremely doting and thoroughly smitten grandparents to help take care of him?
Here's a tip: if you want everyone to be nice to you when you travel (this includes other passengers, security guards, even customs agents), make sure you bring along a really cute baby who doesn't cry at all.
