It's geeky, I know, but these things delight me:
- Freshen omelette lemon, eh, serf?
- "Nurses run!" says sick Cissy as nurses run.
- "Am I mad, eh?" Giselle sighed, "Am I, Ma?"
- Nurse! I spy gypsies! Run!
- Yo, banana boy!
- Oh no! Don Ho!
These are all palindromes, of course. As I was surfing through my usual geeky web haunts, I came across palindromelist.com, which lists hundreds of palindromes, from the mundane (Dumb mud) to the bizarre (Zeus: "Nile macaroni, Ma, is a nitrate-tart in Asia Minor, a camel in Suez."). Some of them are even rude (and very funny) but this is a family web diary so I won't repeat them here. I will, however, invite you to harass selfless Sarah.
The most amazing thing on the site is the (possibly) world's longest palindrome. Pretty darn cool.
There also seem to be quite a few about Toyotas. I suppose you can't go past the name.
- A Toyota! Race fast, safe car. A Toyota.
- Avid Allen spots a Toyota, stops Nell, a diva.
- A Toyota's a Toyota.
- Tinsel Lexus sux Elle's nit!
- (Hell, it's a Toyota still, eh?)
Okay, I confess. I made one of those up, just so I could include a subtle (and very bad) car-geek joke.
It could have been worse. It could have been about a punch buggy. Or even my Mazda.
(Sorry, I had to find a way to sneak in the new photos of my car.)
- Derek (I like red)
